February round-up

I cannot believe it's the first of March today and I'm sharing with you some of the things that I got up to in February. I always like to see snow drops appearing and signs of other spring flowers emerginging my garden, a sign that Spring is on its way. Although you wouldn't think it right now as it is snowing again!

We hosted a family curry night which was a lot of fun. It was also a good excuse to use the new tablecloth and napkins I had made the weekend before!

Beautiful flowers given to me by lovely family.

I subscribe to dressmaker magazine and I downloaded the make up bag pattern from the latest issue and got quite carried away making all different make up bags. It was nice to use oddments of fabric from some of my previous sewing projects. Originally they were made for gifts but a couple may be staying with me! It is a really nice pattern and I will definitely be making more of these in the future.

Talking of gift making I also crocheted a scarf for someone special.  I used this free pattern and it was the first scarf I have made where you crochet rows horizontally along the length of the scarf. It was a really enjoyable make and it seemed to crochet up really quickly. I would definitely make this scarf again as you can style it so many ways.

I also made myself some shopping bags using a favourite bag pattern of mine kwik sew K3597 which I have used many times. I made all 3 sizes as I like to take all 3 bags with me when I go shopping.  I just fold the large and medium bags up and carry them in the small bag until required. I find people in shops often comment on them and ask if I've made them which is always nice.

And finally an update on my woodland blanket which I had hoped to finish this month but sometimes life gets in the way and that is completely ok. I am still really enjoying working on this and it is getting quite big now. Maybe I will have it finished to show you in my March round-up blog post.

Thanks for stopping by and until next time.
